Created this Illustration for Illustration Friday. I thought I'd get a jump start this week, though I'm not sure what I'll do all week waiting for the next topic!
I am a big fan of the bright colours of neon highlighters and the thick ink of sharpies so I thought I'd create a really bright illustration this week. It's all done by hand except for a little bit of highlights and lowlights done in Photoshop to up the impact at the end.
Created for Illustration Friday. I was inspired when researching the topic (Might) by the story of "Mighty Aphrodite". This illustration depicts the might of the sculptor's attraction to the statue he created... and she then comes to life!
The composition was inspired by Angelo Bronzino's work "Pygmalion und Galatea".

Thought I should post this Christmas CD design/illustration I completed last year for Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Calgary, AB. It was nominated for a 2006 GMA Canada Covenant Award for CD/DVD ARTWORK OF THE YEAR. Another illustration I created in Illustrator: I'm a big fan of bezier curves...
Oh, and I should mention, the CD won SEASONAL ALBUM OF YEAR!! I highly recommend it to get you in the holiday mood! Check it out in detail here.

Created for Illustration Friday. I couldn't resist asking the question... so much of my inspiration comes after a good cup of coffee! I was inspired by looking at calendars of Louis Tiffany work - next time I may try to hand paint it, but I was having fun playing in Illustrator for this one. Enjoy!

Enjoy my new blog devoted to all things illustration. Mostly this will be sketches and paintings from my sketchbook. I hope to keep it up so there will be something new at least every week, or whenever the inspiration strikes!
