A Minor Miracle

"A Minor Miracle" is the title piece for my tribute to musical artist Alicia Keys. I believe Alicia has a unique talent to speak (and sing) directly about sensitive personal topics. She also can see things about a subject that others cannot, or would not. My series "A Minor Miracle" is about this character attribute as I look at the small things in life that are actually quite meaningful and draw them out into the light. In this way, I hope I have captured a little of Alicia's beautiful personality.

My latest painting is a tribute to Anthony Kiedis, lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I believe he has a unique voice that spurs young men into action with the ability to shepherd them through dangerous places. This painting explores that idea.

The danger of commemorating an artist like Amy is that there is a tendency to dismiss her talent because of the way she lived and died. I believe she is England's rose and God made her to shine eternally for Him. In this painting I explore these themes.
